"Where predators get away from it all"

Films: Raptor Island (2004)

Alias: Raptors, Albertosaurus

Type: Mutant

Location: Forest/Underground

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of horses to three times that of an elephant.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Raptors are cool, there's no denying it. One of the smartest and most ruthless dinosaurs of their time, they come in all shapes and sizes, and have managed to carve a significant place in the realm of cinema, if only for the efforts of Spielberg. But alas, even a film with an island dedicated to them doesn't quite do them justice. Especially when there are other creatures there.

History: A deserted island happens to be the ideal spot for tons of nuclear waste to be disposed. But unfortunately, this has...SOMEHOW mutated the local wildlife into dinosaurs, particularly raptors and one Albertosaurus. A few soldiers and a few terrorists end up on this secluded place, and find themselves outnumbered instantly.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Eventually, volcanic activity results in the raptors' lair being destroyed, presumably with the rest of the island following suite. However, at least three raptors are seen swimming away from extinction...

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-Some laughable special effects truly put these reptiles into the corner of shame. From soldiers missing terribly to awkwardly stilted movements, it's clear that these mostly charmless dinosaurs are never really there.

Trivia: -Albertosaurus is a cousin of the T-Rex that lived in, where else, Alberta, Canada. There is evidence that it was a pack hunter, and some scientists have wondered if it's just another version of Gorgosaurus, another T-Rex ancestor.

-Apparently, one version of this film's title seems to think that this is an adaptation of "The Lost World". Yeah right...

Doesn't this original U.S cover look a bit familiar, especially to the right?

All but part of the natural order.

"So...how long to Mexico?"
Nope. Not at all.

"I can clearly see your eyes and mouth. Just die with dignity."
Yep. Jurassic Park should just go out of business.

"Keep it down next time! Then, you get to keep your tails."
It's a sun-bleached bloodbath.

"We nested here because...we're idiots!"
